Form & Function

After 6 years of loving my pets, but hating the lack of practical (and pretty) storage solutions available for their food, I decided to take matters into my own hands....why not? Drastic times called for drastic measures!

Living in a home built in 1923, you come to terms the the lack of storage space (especially when the character and charm compensate for it 10 fold), so I needed to figure out a creative, yet practical way to store the kibble so that it would be easily accessible, yet cleverly concealed.

During an Ikea excursion, I came across white plastic bins that were equipped with easy-to-remove lids (very important when trying to feed the fur babies at 5 am)and were sturdy enough to be stacked, keeping visual clutter to a minimum.

I chose the small container for the kitty and the larger version for the dog's food. The two varying sizes were chosen not only for easy identification (since they were both white), but also too add a little visual interest.

To personalize the containers I added a metal label holder to each. Not only do they look good, but they are useful too; distinguishing the Cat's from the Dog's.
"Sadie" and "Gracie" respectively.

Love! Not only are they functional, but I did it all for under $20!
